The Autism Families Association launched the Virtual Autism Clinic, which is the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia and the Arab world. Licensed by the Ministry of Health, it specializes in providing comprehensive medical services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder throughout the Kingdom.
The clinic is the first virtual autism clinic that aligns with the Ministry of Health's e-health strategy. It seeks to facilitate access to a range of health services for individuals with autism through a single system in their various regions. 
The clinic provides its services through synchronous remote video communication and remote telephone communication, and offers home care services for rehabilitation sessions. The clinic has also employed artificial intelligence tools to provide accurate information that supports the decisions of doctors and specialists.
In terms of services, the clinic provides diagnostic services, rehabilitation sessions, and medical consultations in various specialties for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, with more than 70 doctors and specialists. The clinic comprises eight departments, starting with the diagnosis department, psychiatry, speech and language, occupational therapy, behavior analysis, early intervention, nutrition, and physical therapy.
The clinic aims to facilitate patients' access to specialized services in their environment, benefit from qualified experts in all regions, expand the scope of services and reach more beneficiaries, achieve excellence in virtual healthcare, and support autism families with guidance and medical rehabilitation to improve their quality of life and that of their children. and improve the patient experience with high-quality standards in accordance with best scientific practices in digital healthcare.
The clinic's operating system can serve more than 10,000 beneficiaries per hour, with services provided through 200 appointments available weekly. It is technically integrated with government health services, particularly the management of medical appointments with personal calendars, and provides an integrated system for exporting results and reports and enabling connection to a two-factor authentication system for secure access.
For his part, His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Autism Families Association, said: "Today we are witnessing the realization of one of the most important projects of the association, in line with our country's Vision 2030, which we have worked to achieve with commitment and consistency to fill the gaps and meet the needs of people with autism who cannot access services easily and conveniently. Now, with its advanced capabilities, the clinic serves all individuals with autism and their families, providing them with comprehensive rehabilitation and medical services and support. This step comes based on our support, interest, and constant concern for everything that gives people with autism the opportunity to have a better quality of life. If location and distance were a barrier, the clinic, by God's will, has solved this problem. There is great happiness and hope that the desired goal will be achieved.
